I was intrigued by the title “The role of faith.” However the unfortunate conclusion was this; “with literal interpretations hardening in the South and figurative ones gaining favor in the North.” The Higher Critical approach to the Bible which justifies homosexuality and women’s ordination was not the North South Divide in the Civil War. Painting all “literal interpreters” as for slavery is a vast disservice to the Truth. If Christ only figuratively died for sinners than faith is in vain.
