Delegates to the 2010 LCMS convention adopted Resolution 8-08A, mandating sweeping change to our national office structure, including the elimination of seven program boards and commissions, as well as the establishment of two newly elected policy boards: one for national mission work and the other for international mission work.
Today, in partnership with the congregations and districts of the LCMS, the Office of National Mission (ONM) coordinates witness and mercy work inside the United States while the Office of International Mission (OIM) is responsible for witness and mercy work done beyond our borders.
Mercy Operations efforts are carried out under the supervision of the ONM for domestic mercy efforts and under the supervision of the OIM when the Church is asked to bear mercy in countries across the globe.
