Each of these topics — from pastoral formation to artificial intelligence to the structure and authority of the Synod’s mission boards — has gathered a number of overtures to watch, discuss and weigh in on.
The Rev. Dr. Lawrence Rast Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Egger commended residential seminary education to the Synod as the historical and faithful model for training servants for ministry to the church and world.
From July 27 to 30, more than 240 people, including 63 children, gathered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mobile, Ala., under the theme “Empowering the Next Generation.”
This past fall and winter, teams composed of one member each from the Boards for National and International Mission met in person or via Zoom with every district of the Synod.
