Convention exhibitor registration opens

LCMS entities and others who would like to showcase their products and services with exhibits at the 2010 LCMS convention may submit applications through March 31.

The convention is set for July 10-17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, where the exhibit hall will be open to convention participants and visitors July 10-13.

To apply for exhibit space or for more information, go to www.lcms.org/convention or contact Peggy Croghan at peggy.croghan@lcms.org or 314-996-1148.

Exhibitor application is open to LCMS boards, commissions, agencies, auxiliaries, Recognized Service Organizations, vendors in the LCMS National Contract program, and others whose products and services are consistent with the interests and positions of the Synod.

Fees range from $500 for nonprofits to $700 for profit-making entities, and cover a booth measuring 10 feet by 10 feet, with one 8-foot table, a chair, an identifying sign, carpeting, skirting, and draping.  Fees also cover registration and nametags for two booth workers, with nametags for additional staff available for $5 each. Products may be given away or sold at exhibit booths.

The convention is expected to draw about 3,000 participants and guests.  The 2007 convention included some 100 exhibitors.

“The activity in the exhibit hall is an important part of the convention,” said David Fiedler, executive director of LCMS General Services, and convention manager. “In addition to giving our LCMS ministries the opportunity to share information about their work with delegates and visitors, it’s a chance for convention attendees to discover new products and services to help them in their ministry.”

Fiedler added that exhibitors are encouraged to incorporate the convention’s theme of “One People — Forgiven” into their booths and giveaway items.
