“CCLE XIII” — the 13th annual conference for educators sponsored by the Consortium for Classical and Lutheran Education — is set for July 16-18 at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind.
“[This] is a conference that highlights the importance of Lutheran classical education with an emphasis this year on the practical teaching methods,” said Director of LCMS School Ministry William “Bill” Cochran. “This conference will benefit any teacher looking for insights and ideas to enhance their teaching.”
Conference-session topics include “Teaching Latin [to Grades K-8]”; “The distinctively Lutheran home school”; “Classical and Lutheran pedagogy”; “Teaching (Grades 7-12) humanities”; “Teaching children’s literature”; “Teaching music classically in preschool and beyond”; “Worldviews”; “Law and Gospel”; ”Schools and universities as mission fields”; and “Paradise lost.”
A purpose statement on the CCLE website states that the consortium “advances and promotes classical education within the context of confessional Lutheranism among teachers, administrators, pastors and home educators by providing school accreditation, standards, conferences, professional development, resource materials and consulting service.”
