Bulletin insert: Nepal earthquake relief

Nepal-Bulletin-Insert-466x600Immediately after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake devastated the people of Nepal on April 25, killing more than 6,000 people and injuring at least 8,174 more, LCMS congregations and members have been asking what they can do to help care for their South Asian neighbors who are suffering from the effects of this catastrophe.

LCMS Disaster Response is providing $235,000 in grants to go directly to immediate provisions like food, personal-care kits, water-filtration units and other acts of mercy as together we care for the “least of these” in our midst. This is made possible through our Synod’s strategic 70-year partnership with Lutheran World Relief, Baltimore, a relief and human-care agency that will put those grants to use on behalf of the LCMS.

To bring this effort to light and provide our LCMS members and congregations with ways they can support the relief work in Nepal, an in-depth Reporter story and informative bulletin insert are now available.
