LWML sets Sept. 30 deadline for mission-grant requests

As it prepares for its next national convention — June 20–23, 2019, in Mobile, Ala. — the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League has announced Sept. 30, 2018, as the deadline for its next set of mission-grant requests.

Every other year, the LCMS women’s auxiliary meets in convention and chooses to fund mission grants that help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

During the 2015–17 biennium, the LWML awarded grants totaling $1.4 million. For 2017–19, that amount will be $1,684,250. The funds come from the Mite Box offerings of LWML members nationwide.

Ministries seeking LWML grants are encouraged to visit lwml.org/mission-grant-proposals for information about submitting grant requests that will go on the ballot at next summer’s convention in Mobile.

Grants chosen by delegates will be funded during the 2019–21 biennium.

LWML President Patti Ross said the auxiliary — also known as Lutheran Women in Mission — “looks forward to partnering in the Gospel with you.”
