Official nominating ballots for the offices of President, First Vice-President, and regional vice-presidents have been mailed, on October 1, 2018, to every member congregation of the Synod according to the list of member congregations maintained by the Synod’s Department of Rosters, Statistics, and Research. Congregations are reminded that Wednesday, February 20, 2019, will be the absolute deadline for the receipt of these nominating ballots. Only official ballots that are properly signed and received by that date will be honored.
Each congregation and parish will also receive an LCMS President Election Voter Registration form with which to register a pastoral and a lay voter for each congregation or parish (to be mailed on October 25, 2018). Voter registration forms can only be accepted by the Office of the Secretary until Sunday, March 24, 2019.
Congregations and parishes are advised to schedule the necessary meetings to accomplish these official actions. If any eligible congregation, including a congregation recently received into membership, does not receive both mailings, the Office of the Secretary of the Synod should be notified immediately.
