Call for nominations: Director of vicarage/internship, Concordia Seminary

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (CSL), seeks nominations for a professor who will serve as the director of vicarage/internship for all CSL students designated as “vicar” or “intern,” including pre-vicarage/internship preparations and post-vicarage/internship recommendations. The successful candidate should have proven administrative skills and demonstrated aptitude working with a wide variety of people. He should have a terminal degree that qualifies him to teach in at least one of the seminary’s four departments (Exegetical, Historical, Practical, Systematics) and a working knowledge of the biblical languages. Experience as a vicarage/internship supervisor is preferred.

The candidate must be an ordained pastor of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or a partner church body and must have served in a congregational setting for at least five years. He should demonstrate a strong commitment to the Scriptures as the inspired, written Word of God and to the Lutheran Confessions as a correct exposition of the Scriptures.

Responsibilities include conducting interviews with every prospective vicar/intern, obtaining information relative to vicarage/internship sites by regular visitation and the solicitation of student input, and teaching courses in his department.
