Registration is now open for the 40th Biennial Convention of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML), set for June 22–25 at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee. The convention theme, “Celebrate the Lord of the Nations,” is based on Psalm 33: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! The Lord looks down from heaven; he sees all the children of man” (12–13).

The keynote speaker for the convention will be the Rev. Dr. Gregory Seltz, executive director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty in Washington, D.C. Proclaimers for the convention’s two worship services will be:

  • The Rev. Dr. Dwayne Lueck, president of the LCMS North Wisconsin District; and
  • The Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Gray Jr., director of LCMS Black Ministry.

Bible studies will be led by Kaye Wolff, LWML nominating committee chairman, and Saturday night entertainment will feature the hosts of the Lutheran Ladies’ Lounge podcast, a production of Worldwide KFUO.

Among business items, convention delegates will adopt a new mission goal for the 2023–2025 biennium and choose mission grants to support with those funds. The convention will also feature five “Mites in Action” speakers who will tell how LWML mission offerings have helped their ministries. Other activities include a golf outing, a pledge walk, servant events, a blood drive, Mission Impact luncheons, a collection of “Gifts from the Heart” and tours of the Milwaukee area.

LWML President Debbie Larson said, “While we take seriously the necessary business of our organization, we offer opportunities [at the convention] to be in God’s Word, serve His people, network with mission organizations, and hear mission stories from around the world. I invite anyone with a mission heart to come to Milwaukee and celebrate the Lord of the nations.”

Registration is $160 through March 14, $180 from March 15 through May 10 and $205 from May 11 through June 10. There are also one-day and spouse registration options.
