Students at the Synod’s two seminaries will benefit from a new endowment fund established by the late Ella Pelz of Wilmette, Ill., who was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Evanston, Ill.
Paul Geidel of the LCMS Foundation, which is managing the new endowment, said that its assets exceed $600,000.
Geidel said that the seminaries are submitting applications for financial-aid scholarships to be awarded “in the upcoming term.”
Ella Pelz died in October 2002.
