The Board of Governors of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League invites applications and nominations for the position of executive director, based at its Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) headquarters in St. Louis, Mo.  The executive director provides leadership to accomplish the vision and mission of LHM (http://www.lhm.org/aboutus.htm) and is accountable directly to the Board of Governors.
 
As the chief administrative and executive staff member, the executive director will have wide latitude to lead a diverse and creative international media ministry.  Successful management will assure compliance with board directives and policies and provide a sound financial basis for ministry operations.  The job description may be viewed in detail at www.lhm.org/execdirector.htm.
 
Candidates must be lay members of the LCMS or LCC who desire to speak boldly of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of effective organizational, management, supervisory and leadership skills at an executive level in a secular or comparable not-for-profit organization.  Experience in anticipating, defining and analyzing issues, and initiating timely actions using proven business judgment will be essential.

Concordia University, River Forest, Ill., seeks nominations for the position of president.  The president is the chief executive officer of the university’s Board of Regents and serves as its academic, administrative and spiritual head.
 
The responsibilities of the office of the president include, but are not limited to:

  • administering and managing the school and its affairs;
  • supervising and executing its policies and mission;
  • reporting and representing its position;
  • exploring and developing its resources and potential; and
  • nurturing its life and spirit.

 Nominees must be members of LCMS congregations and committed to the Synod’s doctrinal position.  They must possess an advanced degree and be committed to Lutheran Christian higher education with significant managerial experience in a complex environment.  Nominees also must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have demonstrated skill in the management of significant fiscal affairs.
 
According to the synodical Handbook, nominations may only be accepted from LCMS congregations, the faculty of Concordia, River Forest, the Board of Regents of Concordia, River Forest, and the synodical Board for Higher Education.

The LCMS Kansas District is now seeking nominations for the position of executive director for educational services.  The director will provide leadership to and assist congregations in the areas of education, youth programs and congregational services.  The executive director shall be called by the Board of Directors for three years, subject to an annual review.
 
The executive director shall be on the roster of Synod and have an advanced degree in education or comparable field, and have a minimum of 10 years experience in professional church work, at least half of which should include parish work.  Letters of nomination must be received on or before July 15; mail to Board of Education, LCMS Kansas District, 1000 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
