“Building Blocks for Today’s Great Commission Congregations” is the theme for the fourth annual Outreach Leadership Institute, to be held July 29-31 at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minn.
The institute is a training event for those “who have a heart for evangelism and outreach,” including directors of Christian outreach and Christian education, Lutheran school teachers and administrators, deaconesses, pastors and lay people. It is co-sponsored by the Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach, located at Concordia, St. Paul; the Lutheran Education Association and its outreach network, REACHnet; and LCMS World Mission.
Institute presenters will share strategies, methods, values and theories related to congregational and educational outreach. The event is designed to recharge participants’ enthusiasm for sharing the Gospel and equip them with the skills to work effectively.
Rev. Robert Roegner, executive director of LCMS World Mission, will deliver the plenary address on “Ablaze! How Can We Reach 100 Million People for Christ?”
In addition to the plenary, each participant may attend two five-hour, in-depth workshops on topics such as Lutheran schools and outreach, youth and outreach, worship for outreach, family ministry and outreach, early childhood outreach, cross-cultural outreach, rural ministry outreach, small-group ministry outreach, and outreach to those with special needs.
Early registration is $160 and includes on-campus housing and meals. After May 1, registration is $175. For those who wish to stay in off-campus housing, registration is $125.
