The Board for Mission Services seeks applicants for the position of regional director,
to lead the development of LCMS World Mission programs along the border with Mexico.
 
The person in this position, who also serves as the executive director of Frontera Mission Society, works to maintain positive relationships with a number of groups, including the Hispanic Mission Society of the LCMS and with district and mission-society leaders, working with these partners in the design and implementation of mission strategies along the border with Mexico.
 
The regional director is responsible for the design of LCMS World Mission and Frontera program activities in the Mexican/U.S. border region, ensuring that they are properly monitored and evaluated for the purpose of assuring the ongoing quality of the Synod’s and districts’ mission initiatives.  As such, the regional director provides and/or links expertise for new missions and for turning around existing churches and establishes priorities and develops financial resources for funding new starts and turn-arounds.
 
Position qualifications include ordained active membership in the LCMS or any of its partner churches; 10 years of ministry, with a minimum of five years of cross-cultural experience, especially with Spanish-speaking immigrants.
