Registration is open for the Oct. 2-5 LutherHostel 2004 at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. A seminary news release describes LutherHostel as “an educational event for adults age 55 and above.”
Dr. R. Reed Lessing, assistant professor of exegetical theology at the St. Louis seminary, is scheduled to be the main presenter.
“Our time will be spent looking at the Old Testament prophet Jonah and how God is placing a similar call to us in our lifetime,” Lessing said. “Be prepared to dig into the depths of God’s Word to more clearly hear God’s call [for] our lives.”
Planned activities include a western-style cookout to kick off the event; presentations by seminary faculty, staff, retired pastors and deaconesses; visits to seminary classes; student-led devotions; and a tour of the Concordia campus, including Radio Station KFUO and Concordia Historical Institute.
Tours during LutherHostel also will be offered to other Lutheran sites or to St. Louis attractions, and an Oct. 6 optional tour will also be available of Lutheran historical sites in Perry County, Mo.
LutherHostel registration is $150 per person, with an additional fee of $140 for meals and refreshments. Housing is available at nearby hotels or on a more limited basis on campus.
