Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is giving a $1,424,600 grant this year that will fund 18 projects of Synod boards, commissions and other national ministries.
Amounts allocated from the grant range from $6,000 for meetings of Synod leaders who prioritized the projects, to $300,000 for helping to establish new mission congregations in the Synod.
Recipients of funds from the grant include the Boards for Mission Services, Higher Education, District and Congregational Services, Human Care Ministries, Communication Services, and Black Ministry; the Commissions on Theology and Church Relations, Worship, and Ministerial Growth and Support; and the president’s office.
