As of March 14, the Synod’s Board for Communication Services relieved of his duties Rev. David L. Mahsman, director of news and information, a position that includes serving as executive editor of the Synod’s official periodicals, The Lutheran Witness and Reporter.
The board acknowledged, with thanks, Mahsman’s nearly two decades of service. Nominations for this position will be sought in the near future.
In the meantime, the board appointed David L. Strand as interim director of news and information. Currently the Synod’s director of public affairs, Strand previously spent 12 years as features and then managing editor of The Lutheran Witness.
