The Dean reports to the senior vice president for academics of the university and is the chief academic officer of the college. The college seeks a leader who can provide vision to the college and enable the initiation, development, implementation, and evaluation of all education programs. The dean must work effectively with faculty, department chairs, and senior administration in planning and implementing curricular programming, and exercising fiscal management for the college. The dean should possess the interpersonal skills essential for encouraging and supporting faculty in their efforts to be effective in the classroom, in their desire to pursue research interests, and in providing service to both the undergraduate and graduate aspects of the college and the university.
