The Missouri District of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod is seeking applications for the position of direct gift mission counselor.  Applicants must be a member in good standing of an LCMS congregation and have five years of proven direct and major gift fundraising or related experience in the areas of sales, marketing or promotion in working with individual donors.  Applications with resumes are to be sent to resident James W. Concordia University, Ann Arbor, Mich., is seeking a full-time faculty member in religion.  The position includes teaching various undergraduate religion courses, including courses that support the interdisciplinary general education core.
 
Preferred candidate will have experience as a pastor of a congregation and academic expertise in Lutheran Doctrine and Church History, especially Post-Reformation, Contemporary Religious Culture, World Religions, and Biblical Languages.  A Ph.D. is required, and the applicant must have a commitment to the mission of the University.
 
Responsibilities will include teaching four courses per semester, academic advising, committee work, support of the Pre-Seminary program, and the ability to function as the division head.

Concordia University, River Forest, Ill., seeks to fill the position of dean, College of Education.  The Dean reports to the senior vice president for academics of the university and is the chief academic officer of the college.  The college seeks a leader who can provide vision to the college and enable the initiation, development, implementation, and evaluation of all education programs.  The dean must work effectively with faculty, department chairs, and senior administration in planning and implementing curricular programming, and exercising fiscal management for the college.  The dean should possess the interpersonal skills essential for encouraging and supporting faculty in their efforts to be effective in the classroom, in their desire to pursue research interests, and in providing service to both the undergraduate and graduate aspects of the college and the university.  The university desires an individual who is supportive of the mission of Concordia University–River Forest as an institution of Lutheran Christian higher education.
 
The dean holds faculty rank and must have an earned doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the college and have a record of teaching, scholarship, and service.
 
The candidate must have:

  • An earned doctorate and academic credentials or experience that merits appointment as a tenure track professor.
  • Administrative experience in the higher education environment that includes fiscal and personnel experience.
  • A record of effective research/scholarship and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Experience in developing plans and policies in a university setting.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience with program assessment and external accreditation.
  • Commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Commitment to the principles and practices of shared governance.
  • Experience in community outreach and working with external agencies.
