Seminaries offer tours to Germany, Greece

The Synod’s two seminaries are sponsoring group tours this year.

Alumni are encouraged to accompany the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Chorus as it visits Luther and Bach sites in Germany May 21-31.

The Chorus, led by Rev. Henry Gerike, will perform concerts at several congregations of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany, including St. Marien Church in Zehlendorf and St. Johannes Church in Oberursel.

There also will be opportunities for sightseeing between Berlin and Frankfurt, the cities of arrival and departure, respectively.  On the itinerary are stops in Wittenburg, Torgau, Meissen, Leipzig, Erfurt, Eisennach, and Wartburg.

Cost of the 10-day tour is $2,390 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes round-trip airfare from St. Louis.  For more information, or to download an itinerary and registration form, visit the Web site www.csl.edu/chorus.htm or call Luther Tours toll-free at (888) 458-8486.

A three-night cruise on the Aegean Sea will include stops at Mykonos, Rhodes, Kusadasi, and Patmos.  Dr. Daniel Gard, the seminary’s associate professor of exegetical theology and dean of graduate studies, and his wife, Annette, will serve as hosts.

The 11-day tour is priced at $2,349 from Chicago or $2,399 from Fort Wayne, based on double occupancy, and includes round-trip airfare and most meals.
