Calls for Nominations (September)

The Board for University Education (BUE)/Concordia University System (CUS) is seeking nominations for an associate director, university education.  The  associate director reports to the executive director of BUE/president of CUS and is responsible for promoting improved articulation between the colleges and universities through conferences and workshops for staff and faculty; initiating and coordinating CUS-wide programs, such as student exchanges, study abroad, Concordia All-American Scholar recognitions and “Academic Showcase” competitions; initiating and coordinating funding for leadership development programs at multiple levels for faculty and staff; identifying and assisting in the recruitment of Lutheran professors, senior staff members and administrators; preparing and presenting regular and special reports on education issues, concerns and opportunities; assisting in the development of recruitment programs for students, including church workers; assisting the executive director in administering the programs and operation of the BUE/CUS as requested; and working with staff members dealing with pastoral education that concern both college and seminary education.

Nominees must be members in good standing of LCMS congregations, faithful to the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions, and supportive of the Synod’s Constitution, Bylaws, and policies; be trained educators with at least five years experience as a professional educator in the LCMS; possess a master’s degree, preferably in an area of professional education, such as education, leadership, education administration, educational psychology or history and philosophy of education; be known among colleagues as a negotiator, arbiter, coordinator, and team player who has a facility to strengthen and improve relationships; have a demonstrated background of innovative and creative leadership, effective teaching, and competence in oral and written communication; enjoy teamwork and be willing to participate in a mentoring program for additional leadership responsibility.

The Kansas District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod is now seeking nominations for the position of executive director for missions and stewardship services.  The director will provide leadership to and assist congregations in the administration of missions and ministries.  The executive director shall be called by the Board of Directors for three years and subject to an annual review.  The executive director shall be on the ordained roster of the LCMS and have a minimum of 10 years experience in professional church work, a major portion of which should include parish work.
