New `catechism` explores life issues

Timely topics like abortion, bioethics, human sexuality, and end-of-life concerns are viewed through the “LPless bookutheran lens” of Luther’s Small Catechism in a new book published by LCMS World Relief/Human Care’s Life Ministries.

Concordia Theological Seminary professor Rev. John T. Pless is the author of  A Small Catechism on Human Life ($14.99, item no. S14670), available through Concordia Publishing House.

Life Ministries Director Maggie Karner calls the 104-page, hard-bound volume “thorough but lay-friendly, the perfect tool for Bible study groups or personal reflection.”

The book includes discussion questions, Bible references, and historic woodcut illustrations.

For younger readers, CPH also has Michelle Baumann’s simplified version of “A Small Catechism on Human Life” ($9.99 for each pack of 10, item no. S14671), in a smaller, pamphlet version designed for confirmation and youth study groups.

A companion set that includes both the adult hardback and one copy of the youth version also is available from CPH for $15.99 (item no. S14674).

Orders may be placed through CPH at (800) 325-3040 or www.cph.org.
