The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod seeks candidates for the following two positions:

  • Vice President, Products and Services for Concordia Plan Services.  Concordia Plan Services administers the benefit programs and the Trusts by which programs are funded for full-time workers of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, its controlled organizations, member congregations and affiliated agencies.  This position is responsible for market research, design, development and appropriate funding of products and services, strategic management of benefit vendors and of external actuarial and benefit consultants, actuarial analysis and reporting, and monitoring emerging employee benefit issues/trends/legislation.  Qualifications required include a bachelor’s degree, and five to 10 years experience in the area of employee benefits, insurance, or consulting.  Design and funding experience is critical.  Actuarial/financial experience preferred.  A professional designation such as FSA, ASA, CPA or CFA is preferred.  Interested persons should submit a resume and cover letter no later than May 15 to Human Resources Department, Attn: VB, The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, 1333 S.   • Vice President, Education and Outreach for Concordia Plan Services.  Concordia Plan Services administers the benefit programs and the Trusts by which programs are funded for full-time workers of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, its controlled organizations, member congregations and affiliated agencies.  This position is responsible for development and implementation of marketing strategy, brand management, and the design and development of communication materials (including a robust web strategy).  It is also responsible for outreach to the broader LCMS community, including the development and maintenance of relationships with LCMS employers, workers, districts, etc.  Finally, the position is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive education programs (including general plan benefits, financial and retirement planning, and worker health and wellness).  Qualifications required include a bachelor’s degree, with five to 10 years of relevant experience.  Advanced education in marketing, public relations, communications or divinity is preferred.  The position requires demonstrated skills/abilities in leadership, basic business principles/administration, marketing/communication, and creative and strategic thinking.  Active member of a LCMS congregation is required also.  Interested persons should submit a resume and cover letter no later than May 15 to Human Resources Department, Attn: VB, The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, 1333 S. Concordia University, River Forest, Ill., seeks candidates and student-oriented applicants for the following four positions:

  • Chair of the Department of Leadership.  The initial appointment is a two-year renewable term, beginning May 15.  The chair is responsible to the Dean of the College of Education in matters pertaining to faculty, curriculum, and administration.  Specifically, the chair is responsible for assigning full-time and adjunct faculty to teach courses in master’s and doctoral courses, both on- and off-campus, and ensuring the quality of the programs offered at those sites.  Other duties include preparation and management of the department budget, presiding at department meetings, assessing effectiveness of faculty members, working with the dean to fill new faculty positions as needed, and providing vision and leadership in the development of the programs of the department.  The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in educational leadership or administration, a record of administrative involvement in P-12 settings, experience in teaching and/or administration at the university level, and commitment to Lutheran education and values congruent with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  Interviews will begin as soon as possible and continue until a suitable candidate is identified.  Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, transcripts, and three letters of reference to Dr. Jane R.
