Concordia University at Austin, Austin, Texas, seeks a provost to direct and accomplish the academic mission of the university.  Reporting to the president, the person in this position will provide visionary leadership for all aspects of academic and student life, including coordinating, developing, and improving academic programs; overseeing the work of the faculty; supervising and consulting with the academic deans of the colleges of business, education, liberal arts, and adult education.  The provost also supervises the deans for student services and enrollment management to facilitate plans for enrollment expansion and well-rounded student life programming.  The provost is responsible for the library and the registrar’s office.

The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate; an outstanding record of teaching; at least five years of successful leadership in higher education senior administrative experience, preferably at the level of dean or higher; and demonstrated experience with fiscal management and resource allocation.  This individual will also have a commitment to the mission of developing Christian leaders. The provost must be a member of a congregation of The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

The successful candidate must also be an educational leader and community builder, committed to advancing the mission of the university; have the ability to integrate curricular and co-curricular in accomplishing the mission of the university; be a strong advocate of student success achieved through alignment of academic programs with outreach, recruitment and retention efforts; be a strong fiscal manager; have knowledge of SACS accreditation process, principles, guidelines and procedures; have strategic planning skills to effect change, formulate policy, and develop and implement new strategies and procedures; and possess employee development and performance management skills.

Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, seeks to fill the position of department chair for the undergraduate social work program within the School of Human Services, beginning with the 2007-08 academic year.  The successful candidate must be a mission-oriented academic leader committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching.  Responsibilities include curriculum and program development; strategic planning for growth and recruitment; administration of department, including faculty planning, hiring personnel, and management of resources; teaching undergraduate courses across the social work curriculum; scholarly research; and service to the department, university, and the surrounding community.

The preferred candidate will have a MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, earned doctorate preferred in social work or a closely related field, a minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience, accreditation experience, teaching experience, administrative leadership, and research and publication record.
