Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, Wis., seeks applications to fill the full-time position of department chair/program director for the Department of Nursing.  The nursing department includes a traditional baccalaureate program, a baccalaureate program for RNs, a master’s program with FNP and NE concentrations, and a continuing-education parish nurse program.  This position reports to the dean of the School of Human Services and is located on the Mequon campus.

The responsibilities include strategic planning for the nursing department; directing the activities of the nursing department, including budgeting, class scheduling, and faculty workloads; and supervision, direction, and evaluation of faculty and staff in the nursing department.  Teaching, service, and scholarship are components of this position.

Current registration to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin and a master’s degree with a major in nursing are required.  An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field is preferred.  The preferred candidate will have demonstrated evidence of teaching and administrative experience.

Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill., seeks to fill the following full-time, tenure-track faculty positions:

  • educational psychology with an emphasis in school psychology.  The Psychology Department seeks student-oriented applicants whose teaching responsibilities will be in the undergraduate and graduate programs within the psychology department, including courses in the master’s in school counseling and in support courses for the programs of the College of Education, e.g., teacher education and special education at all teacher-certification levels at the undergraduate and graduate level.  Teaching may be in on-campus and/or off-campus cohort-based programs.  Additionally, advising of undergraduate and/or graduate students and contributions to university committees and to one’s professional field are required.  The ability to articulate the interplay between matters of faith and empirical research in one’s academic discipline is an important consideration.  Faculty rank is contingent upon qualifications and experience.

    The Psychology Department offers an undergraduate major as well as supporting coursework in other majors.  At the graduate level, the department offers three degrees: a master’s in psychology, a CACREP accredited master’s programs in community and in school counseling.

    Qualifications include a Ph.D. or Ed.D. or degree candidacy in educational psychology or school psychology or a closely related program from a regionally accredited institution; a record of research and publication related to the preceding and three to five years of successful undergraduate, graduate, and/or previous experience at the elementary and/or secondary level is preferred. However, candidates with a combination of the above or similar qualifications will be given consideration; and a valid teaching certificate at any level in Illinois or other state is an additional, advantageous qualification.
