Call for Nominations: LCEF senior VP

The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) is seeking applications for senior vice president — Loans and Real Estate.  The senior vice president –Loans and Real Estate serves in a senior management role, providing strategic planning and leadership to the LCEF as a whole and specifically to LCEF’s lending function for organizational ministries and rostered church workers; leads in the development of new product offerings to support LCEF’s ministry objective of meeting all the capital needs of the LCMS; oversees the development and implementation of loan policies and procedures for loan underwriting and monitors the organizational loan approval process; manages LCEF’s efforts to assist eligible borrowers with obtaining access to tax-exempt financing through guarantees and direct borrowing from the tax-exempt markets; relates to various levels of LCMS leadership, LCEF’s district vice presidents and legal counsel; and manages the entire lending function which includes underwriting, servicing and escrow disbursing activities and real estate management.

The qualified applicant must be an active LCMS member with demonstrated evidence of support for the church; a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or related disciplines; 10 progressively responsible years of experience in real estate and mortgage loans, with four or more years of supervisory experience; thorough knowledge of mortgage underwriting, loan documentation requirements, construction loan financing, and escrow disbursing; possess excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to relate to clergy and lay leadership within the Synod as well as various other constituents; and a willingness to travel.
