Created in God’s image or evolved from a lower species? Living in the promise of God’s eternal care or survival of the fittest?
Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, will address questions such as these at an Oct. 9-10 conference titled “Dealing with Darwinism.”
The conference will focus on the ideology, or worldview, of Darwinism, and presentations will respond to Darwinism from scientific, theological, and historical perspectives.
It is open to anyone with an interest in learning about Charles Darwin and how they can respond to his ideas.
Conference presenters and their topics are:
- Dr. Dean O. Wenthe, the seminary’s president, who will address “The Gospel in Genesis.”
- Dr. Adam Francisco, assistant professor of historical theology at the seminary, “Darwin and the Devolution of the Western Worldview.”
- Dr. David Menton, associate professor emeritus of anatomy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, “The Science of Charles Darwin,” “What a Difference a Day Makes,” “How Intelligent is Intelligent Design?,” and “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.” Menton also serves as a speaker for Answers in Genesis, the organization responsible for the Creation Museum, located just outside Cincinnati, Ohio.
Registration is $25 for students, and $50 for others, and includes an opening reception, a light breakfast, and a lunch. On-campus housing is available for $25 per night.
