Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., is hosting a retreat on “Contending for the Faith in the Twenty-First Century” May 1-2.
The retreat will offer presentations on topics such as atheism, Islam, and the historical and practical implications of a Christian witness. It is designed for anyone who is interested in giving a “Christian witness in a public arena” — to give them the tools to “always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15).

Dr. Jeff Mallinson, academic dean, Trinity Lutheran College, Everett, Wash., “Cruciform Apologetics.”
Dr. Angus Menuge, professor of philosophy, Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, Wis., “Exposing the Materialist Delusion: How Human and Divine Agency Survive the Materialist Onslaught.”
Sam Shamoun, author and missionary, answeringislam.org, “Answering Muslim Objections to the Christian Faith.”
Dr. Steven Mueller, professor of theology and dean of Christ College, Concordia University, Irvine, Calif., “Imaginative Apologetics: C.S. Lewis and the Defense of the Christian Faith.”
Craig Parton, lawyer and U.S. director of the International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism, and Human Rights, Strasbourg, France, “A Lawyer Amongst the Artists: Legal and Literary Apologetics.”
