Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, will hold a men’s retreat titled “Real Men Follow Jesus” Feb. 1-2, on its campus.
The retreat is designed to re-engage men in their local congregations. Studies have shown that while women and children thrive in their church environment, men often feel hesitant and restrained. The retreat will focus on topics such as masculinity, spiritual leadership, and the future of men in the church. 
Dr. Gary Zieroth, associate pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kingsville, Md., will lead the retreat.
“The restoration of a balance in the church between the sexes can be developed with a right [Scriptural] understanding of the meanings of masculinity and femininity,” Zieroth said. “The present emphasis [on the part of some] in church and society to establish feminism and the toleration of homosexuality can only drive men further from the church.”
