As the Synod’s newly elected leaders begin their service in a church body that is facing structural changes, another PRAY2010 event is planned for Oct. 21-22 in St. Louis.

“Prayer for our Synod is very fitting for this time, as we are in transition,” said organizer Dr. Victor Belton of Decatur, Ga. “We have a new president in Rev. Matthew Harrison, new vice-presidents, new members of the Board of Directors and two new boards. There are a number of structure changes that we made in convention and it would be a great grace to have opportunity to bring our celebrations, reasons for thanksgiving and concerns before the Lord.”
Belton, who is a member of the LCMS Board of Directors, invites members of Synod congregations to attend the upcoming PRAY event “to give thanks and seek our Lord’s will for The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod, our leaders, the provision for our missionaries to the nations, and to ask the Father’s blessing on LCMS congregations, pastors, ministry leaders and our nation, as we pray ‘come, Holy Spirit’ to call, gather, enlighten and sanctify us in Your truth.”
PRAY2010 will begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 and end by 3 p.m. the following day.
Registration is $50 and includes two meals. Lodging is $69 (single or double occupancy), plus tax, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (St. Louis airport), with complimentary breakfast, Internet access, parking and airport shuttle.
