In a new video produced by Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Dr. 
Masaki, who was raised in Japan and has family still living there, also describes how the disaster has affected the Japan Lutheran Church, the Synod’s partner church, and offers suggestions for U.S. Lutherans who want to help the people of Japan.
In a second video, Masaki prays Psalm 46, offering Christ’s words of peace in the midst of suffering, and encourages prayers on behalf of all affected by the disaster.
Masaki is a 1991 graduate of the Fort Wayne seminary and received his Ph.D. from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 2005. His brother, Dr. Makito Masaki, is president of the Kobe Lutheran Theological Seminary in Kobe, Japan.
