LCMS Virtual Life Conference offers pro-life education, advocacy resources
Visit new site to download speaker presentations, sermon transcripts, photos, videos
ST. LOUIS, May 7, 2013—The LCMS Virtual Life Conference is live! The new Web resource makes it easy for those who missed or want to re-live the first-ever Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Life Conference and get the information from the conference.
The conference – held Jan. 25-26, 2013, in Washington, D.C. – offered tips for individuals, groups and congregations on pro-life advocacy at the local, state and national levels, and discussed theological motivations, apologetics, encouragement and practical suggestions for becoming more involved in the public arena on life issues.
“It is imperative that Christians prepare themselves for defending their beliefs in a society where many are opposed to or confused about our worldview,” said Maggie Karner, director of Life and Health Ministries for the LCMS. ”We encourage our members to engage in the public square in a faithful, thoughtful and logical way to help others grasp the biblical truth of our message. The educational resources on this site will help everyone get equipped to be witnesses in a challenging world.”
In addition to getting speaker presentations and sermons transcripts, visit the site to watch or download video of the conference’s Divine Service, LCMS President Harrison’s keynote address, the plenary sessions and several breakout sessions.
Visitors can also view photos from the conference and the 2013 National March for Life, download a copy of the LCMS 2013 March for Life essay by the Rev. Terry Forke, president of the LCMS Montana District, and get information about the next March for Life on Jan. 22, 2014.
All of the resources available at www.lcms.org/lifeconference are free.
