Public welcome to attend Divine Service of Installation, festivities

Who: The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president; the six vice-presidents; other officers and newly elected and appointed members of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s (LCMS) boards and commissions.

What: A Divine Service of Installation

When: 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013

Where: Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Thomas

The officers and board and commission members to be installed were elected to their positions earlier this summer and at the LCMS convention, held July 20-25 in St. Louis. The Rev. Dr. Robert Bugbee, president of Lutheran Church—Canada, will preach at the installation service. International Lutheran church leaders including those representing LCMS church partners in Brazil, Kenya, Lithuania, Nigeria and Russia are expected to attend.

A complimentary lunch and entertainment by George Portz and His Friends of Bluegrass will immediately follow the installation service. LCMS President Harrison, a banjo player, will perform some selections with the band. The service and festivities are open to the public.
