The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, along with some 30 other religious leaders, today signed an open letter to those in positions of public service expressing a shared commitment to promoting and protecting marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
The letter notes, in part, that “at this significant time in our nation’s history with the institution of marriage before the United States Supreme Court, we reaffirm our commitment to promote and defend marriage—the union of one man and one woman.”
