What’s in the January ‘Lutheran Witness’?

The world watches the ball drop, flings confetti and sips champagne. But the Church abides by a different calendar — the Church Year — that teaches Christians to order their days according to Christ.

In the January issue of The Lutheran Witness, readers will learn more about that Church year as well as the reasoning behind all its colors, feasts and seasons. Authors also unpack the Church calendar’s unique way of understanding time — as a gift, not a burden, from God — and its emphasis on encouraging Christians to take church seriously while remaining focused on Christ and His cross.
