Is Christmas becoming more secular? It may seem that way, when even the phrase “Merry Christmas” is considered by many as being “inappropriate” and religious displays are increasingly under criticism from secular sources.
This disturbing trend will be the focus of Worldwide KFUO’s December “Free to be Faithful” program with moderator Kip Allen and the Rev. Christopher I. Thoma, pastor of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland, Mich.
The program will air at 2:30 p.m. (Central time) Dec. 21 and again at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 24 on Worldwide KFUO, and will stream online at kfuo.org.
Thoma is the author of books and articles for Lutheran publications, including Lutheran Service Book Hymnal Companion and The Lutheran Witness. He is involved in pastoral briefings on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and with legislative think tanks in Michigan.
Allen moderates such “Free to be Faithful” discussions on Worldwide KFUO the third Wednesday of each month.
