The 2016-17 edition of “Chapel Talks for Lutheran Schools,” titled Upon This Rock, is now available from LCMS School Ministry.
The resource contains 42 weekly devotions — as well as opening and closing services — to help students confess with Peter: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:16 ESV). This confession is the foundation for every activity in a Lutheran school.
Upon This Rock was written by the Rev. Bob Riggert, a former Lutheran school teacher, principal and parish pastor. The messages, which are based on the weekly appointed readings for LCMS congregations, were developed for elementary school assemblies. However, they can be adapted for younger or older students.
The 2016-17 edition is available as a free downloadable PDF. This year, a hard copy of the resource also can be purchased through Amazon.
“Chapel Talks” is produced by LCMS School Ministry. Permission is granted to reproduce “Chapel Talks” for use in school worship services.
