Lutheran Special School and Education Services seeks executive director

The board of directors of Lutheran Special School and Education Services (LSSES) of Milwaukee seeks an executive director to assume the administrative leadership of its longstanding and vibrant ministry for challenged learners in southeast Wisconsin, and invites expressions of interest, nominations and applications.

LSSES is an LCMS Recognized Service Organization and is accredited by the Synod’s National Lutheran School Accreditation. Throughout its 58-year history, LSSES has served students with learning challenges endeavoring to “maximize their God-given spiritual, academic, emotional and social potential.”

The executive director reports to the board of directors and will assume leadership of a mission-directed community of faculty and staff, collaborating and coordinating the efforts of office personnel and the school principal. The ideal candidate also should exhibit strong abilities to communicate the vision of LSSES to a broad spectrum of communities in southeast Wisconsin as well as informed stakeholders, collaboratively work with staff to set objectives and goals, be well-grounded in sound fiscal-planning skills and be ready to engage in fund development.

LCEF seeks to fill two posts: director of Regional Marketing; regional vice-president

Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF), a Christ-centered servant partner of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, is seeking candidates for two positions.

Preferred candidates for both positions will be active members of LCMS congregations, demonstrating an effective understanding of church leadership as well as district and Synod governance.

The director of Regional Marketing will oversee the work of the LCEF Regional Marketing managers and will serve as a member of the Marketing Leadership Team.

A bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of professional experience in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field is required. Previous experience managing deployed staff is preferred.

Superior communication and presentation skills are necessary, along with a highly collaborative style that fosters team building and unity. Must be able to manage multiple people and projects across a deployed setting.

The regional vice-president, Central Region, will oversee the work of the LCEF district vice-presidents in the Central Region and is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the LCEF program in this area.

The regional vice-president will report to the LCEF senior vice-president, District & National Operations, and will serve as a member of the District & National Operations Leadership Team.

A bachelor’s degree and 10 or more years of professional experience in marketing/sales management, business administration and/or management is required. Previous experience as an LCEF district vice-president and a passion for the work of church extension is preferred.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability, within a team environment, to develop, manage and implement comprehensive processes which will be used to manage and promote LCEF loans, investments and Ministry Support services throughout The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
