In May’s ‘Lutheran Witness’

The number of recent Christian martyrs is staggering, with some organizations estimating that as many as 90,000 men, women and children have been killed for the faith in the past year.

In the May issue of The Lutheran Witness, authors explore the connection between withstanding persecution when it strikes the Church and the need for a firm basis in the faith as preparation for persecution.

Articles include information on the need to study and meditate on Scripture now in the event of future persecution, why parents are given to teach the faith to their children for the same reason, and how to pray in the midst of assaults and attacks from the devil and the world. Authors also touch on early church martyrs, offering insight into the lives of those who died for the sake of the faith of the Reformation.
