Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (CSL) seeks candidates for the full-time position of director, Donor Relations and Stewardship.

The director of Donor Relations and Stewardship provides leadership and strategic direction for donor stewardship initiatives to strengthen existing donor commitment and forge new relationships with CSL. The director provides supervision and direction for a donor relations and stewardship program that appropriately and consistently promotes quality interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in development of a best practices engagement and stewardship program for donors at all levels of giving and participation.
  • Oversee donor research operations to enhance the cultivation and development of a pipeline of new donors to the seminary.
  • Manage data/information tracking processes regarding acknowledgment and recognition of donors.
  • Lead gift processing team and oversee daily operations of gift acceptance procedures and processing.
  • Serve as a seminary liaison to fundraising consultants in developing and implementing direct mail and gift by phone solicitation programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the seminary donor database through the development and review of operating processes and work closely with the technology team to develop, refine and maintain the database infrastructure to optimize data output.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five years of professional and supervisory experience required. Experience in a higher education setting is a plus.
  • Strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Active member of an LCMS congregation preferred.
  • Strong computer and database literacy required.
