Young Adult Volunteers needed for 2025 Gathering

Young Adult Volunteers pray in the early morning before beginning their day of service during the 2022 LCMS Youth Gathering in Houston. The 2025 Gathering will be held July 19–23 in New Orleans. (LCMS/Erik M. Lunsford)

Applications are now open for those interested in serving as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) at the 2025 Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Youth Gathering. YAVs are adults 19–25 who serve as role models and servant leaders throughout the Gathering. There are also opportunities to apply for leadership positions with the YAV team.

YAVs commit to:

  • Paying a $400 volunteer registration fee
  • Staying in assigned Gathering hotel accommodations
  • Attending volunteer training July 17–18, 2025, in New Orleans
  • Serving at the Gathering July 19–23, 2025, in New Orleans

The registration fee is used to supplement Gathering hotel costs. In addition, YAVs pay for their own transportation and most meals. Some YAVs seek additional financial support, such as from their local congregation, to help with travel, registration and meal costs.

The YAV application period opened July 15 and will remain open through Dec. 31. YAVs must arrive by midday on July 17 to attend the first night’s training. YAVs who arrive prior to July 17 or who want to stay later than July 23 will need to make their own arrangements.

The 2025 Gathering will bring over 1,000 loving, energetic and faithful volunteers to New Orleans to provide a crucial element of the Gathering experience, one essential to its overall success. Please consider applying and join us next year at “ENDURE.” For more information, visit lcmsgathering.com/volunteer.
