The Center for U.S. Missions is distributing a new resource for anyone interested in mission work in the United States. “Mission Moments” is a free newsletter that is e-mailed every two weeks to subscribers.
The Center, based in Irvine, Calif., is a partnership between LCMS World Mission; Concordia University, Irvine; and the Synod’s North America Mission Executives.
Each issue of “Mission Moments” includes one major article with information and encouragement for those who are involved in mission — both lay and professional.
Recent issues discussed “New Ways to Tell the [Gospel] Story” and “Should Small Churches Plant Churches?”
Also in each issue are research items gleaned from the works of established researchers such as George Barna, and ideas from those involved in U.S. mission work.
The newsletter “provides a way to gain some quick insights into cutting-edge information and research in the area of 21st century mission outreach,” said Dr. Ken Behnken, director of the Center for U.S. Missions.
