Hartman becomes president of Oklahoma District

Rev. Paul A. Hartman of Moore, Okla., is now president of the LCMS Oklahoma District, to complete the unexpired term of Dr. William Diekelmann, the Synod’s new first vice president.
 
Hartman, first vice president of the district since 1991, was installed as president Sept. 12 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Moore, where he has been pastor since 1975, and where he will continue to serve.
 
A 1965 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Ill., Hartmann, 65, previously was pastor of congregations in El Dorado, Kan., Watonga, Okla., and Sioux City, Iowa.  He also has been a circuit counselor in Kansas and Oklahoma. 
 
He and his wife, Marilyn, are the parents of two grown sons.
