Jan. 9 registration deadline for Fort Wayne symposia

Jan. 9 is the registration deadline for the 2005 symposia series sponsored by Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne.

“Who Is Jesus?  The Church’s Response to Christological Controversies” is the theme for the Jan. 18-19 exegetical-theology symposium.  The Jan. 19-21 Lutheran Confessions symposium will explore “The Third Use of the Law: Revisiting a Perennial Issue.”

As in years past, theologians from around the world will present papers on the featured topics and the sessions will include panel discussions.  This year’s speakers include Dr. Larry Hurtado of the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland; Dr. Joel R. Beeke of Puritan Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Dr. James Nestingen of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.  Members of the Fort Wayne seminary faculty also will serve as presenters.

Registration is $150 for the entire symposia; $70 for the exegetical-theology symposium only; and $120 for the confessional symposium only.  Discounts are available for spouses and retired pastors, and registration is free for seminarians and prospective Fort Wayne seminary students.

Meal plans are available at additional cost, and area hotels are offering discounts for those attending the event.

The seminary mailed a symposia brochure with a registration form to all LCMS congregations and prospective students in early October.

A registration form and information about the symposia series also are available online at www.ctsfw.edu.  Or, call the seminary at (260) 452-2247 to request a brochure.
