Sem adds discussion board to lectionary resource

“Lectionary at Lunch,” a Web resource from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, that provides audio files to help pastors prepare sermons, now offers a new discussion-group feature.

At www.csl.edu/lection.htm, pastors can hear seminary faculty members translating the Old Testament and Gospel lessons assigned for the following Sunday in the three-year series used by many congregations.  Now, they can also discuss those readings in the “Lectionary at Lunch Forum,” at http://portal.csl.edu/forums.

“The discussion board has proven extremely popular,” said Rev. Glen Thomas, the seminary’s vice president for seminary relations.  “We are pleased to offer it as another resource for those who wish to have an online discussion of the texts and to proclaim them with fidelity and meaningful application.”

Thomas said that in the first three weeks the discussion board was offered, more than 150 pastors, students and others participated in discussions through it.

The “Lectionary at Lunch” audio files, updated every Friday, may be accessed in three formats: RealAudio, Windows Media and MP3.
