World Mission offers new, online resources

“Light for the Darkness,” a new worship service designed to help congregations celebrate Ablaze!, is now available free on the LCMS World Mission Web site at www.lcmsworldmission.org/ablaze.

Ablaze! is LCMS World Mission’s initiative that seeks to reach 100 million people with the Gospel by 2017, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

Other new resources, which may be downloaded free from the www.lcmsworldmission.org/resources site, include:

  • “Mission Friends: South Africa and Botswana,” the latest issue of LCMS World Mission’s publication for children.  In the newsletter, Palmer the Parrot takes young readers on a “journey” to South Africa and Botswana to explore the culture, people and mission work being done in those countries by Missouri Synod missionaries and partner churches.
  • “Mission Focus: Hispanic Ministry in North America,” a bulletin insert designed to educate congregations and other groups about mission efforts among Hispanic people.
  • the “Mission Education Catalog” and “Children’s Mission Involvement Catalog,” listing print, Internet, video and other mission-education resources for adults and children, respectively.

For more information about mission resources, call (800) 254-9495 or send an e-mail to mission.orders@lcms.org.
