Campus mission group to sponsor student conference

The Lutheran Campus Mission Association (LCMA) is sponsoring a Leadership/Peer Ministry Conference Feb. 17-18 at Miracle Camp, a retreat center near Kalamazoo, Mich.  The event is open to student leaders/peer ministers involved in campus ministries and to students interested in being a leader or peer minister.

Under the theme “Encouraging the Heart of the Leader,” the conference will focus on the qualities and characteristics of Christian leaders.  It is designed to equip, motivate, and encourage participants and “provide an outreach focus” for individual ministries.

Speaker will be Jim Anderson, a director of Christian education who serves as adult minister at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minn.  Anderson is a trainer and consultant in leadership and small-group ministry for college students and adults.

Conference participants also will be encouraged to share their campus-ministry hopes, plans, and experiences with one another.

Registration is $40 and includes lodging and meals.  For more information, or to register, contact Rev. Dave Dressel, LCMA president, at (517) 332-0778 or dresseld@msu.edu.  Or visit the LCMA Web site and click on “Peer Ministry Conference” at right.  The LCMA is a mission society that works in partnership with LCMS World Mission to promote campus ministry.
