Concordia University, Irvine, Calif., plans to begin construction on its new high-tech Education, Business and Technology (EBT) Center in October. A ground-breaking ceremony was held on the campus in July.
The EBT Center, located next to the campus library, is being touted as “one of the most technologically advanced educational centers in the United States.” The building will almost double the classroom capacity of the campus.
Last year the university launched a $22 million capital campaign for the EBT Center — more than $12 million has been raised to date.
The EBT Center, part of the university’s master plan that was designed in the 1990s, will serve as the new home for the Schools of Business and Adult Studies. Construction is expected to be completed by February 2007.
Concordia, Irvine, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, serves about 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
