LWML offers Christmas card, ornament

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League has issued a new Christmas card and Christmas-tree ornament for 2005.

Designed by St. Louis graphic artist and LWML member Judy Newell, the card features a watercolor wash depicting Bethlehem and the star, surrounded by the words “Good News, Christ the Lord, a Savior, for all people.”  The inside carries the sentiment, “With the angels and shepherds in Bethlehem, let us praise our Heavenly Father and share the good news of our Savior’s birth,” and a Bible verse — “Unto us a Child is born; unto us a Son is given.  Isa. 9:6.”

Cards are available in packs of 10 for $5 (item no. 16520).  The cards also may be purchased as a fund-raiser — 30 packs for $100, a savings of $50.

The new LWML ornament is made of pewter and features Mary and Joseph kneeling alongside Baby Jesus.  The ornament, dated 2005, is available for $10 (item no. 10050).
