Three new exhibits with the overall theme “A Century of Caring” opened in April at Concordia Historical Institute (CHI) in St. Louis.

On display there through Labor Day 2006 are exhibits highlighting the work throughout the 1900s of LCMS World Mission, Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
The missions exhibit focuses on the international missionary movement of the Synod, beginning in 1895 with a mission to south India. The LWML display tells the story of the 60-year-plus history of the women’s association. And the “Lutheran Nurses Alumni” exhibit celebrates the centennial of the alumni association of the nursing school, which was the first church-supported charity in the Synod.
CHI’s museum, on the campus of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Reservations are only necessary for groups of more than 50 people, or for tours of the synodical archives.
